The Partnership for Safe and Peaceful Communities (PSPC) has teamed up with Mayor Johnson to award $2.5 million to 253 grassroots orgs. This money will be used to fund activities such as community gardening, arts and culture, music festivals, etc.
Gov. Pritzker sent a newly formed team of 30 street outreach workers to be deployed to neighborhoods over Memorial Day weekend. The “peacekeepers” will work with community groups to address and deescalate violence.
